Dubai Quality Group concludes the 16th Cycle of Emirates Women Awards (EWA), under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group, and the patronage of DQG.
The award was graced by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Eng. Hassan Omar, Chairman Dubai Quality Group, DQG Board Members, VIPs, government officials, Jury Members, Award Assessors, Participants Sponsors, Media Partners, and distinguished guests from across UAE, at Habtoor Palace, Lxr Hotels & Resorts.
The ceremony was opened with the welcome speech of Eng. Hassan Omar, Chairman, Dubai Quality Group, said “In line with the UAE’s leadership vision to encourage women to achieve her dreams making significant accomplishments in various sectors, they have held the highest executive leadership positions in public & private sectors, and they have proven their ability to contribute effectively in social and economic development locally, regionally and globally. Emirates Women Award vision is to highlights the role of women in the UAE society and aims at recognizing and appreciating women (both Nationals & Expatriates) for their outstanding contribution to the country.”
“The success of the Emirates Women’s Award since 2003 has been the result of the inevitable support of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the patron of the Award. His encouragement & support to women of all nationalities in the UAE is a driving motivational factor for us over the years, to contribute in our way in promoting and celebrating the achievements of women in the UAE.” He added.
“A new category of “young women leaders” will be added to the award by next year to ensure that our message is successfully passed on to the future generation of women, to motivate, inspire and encourage the future generation of women to achieve their true potential by empowering their status in the society.” He added.
“We feel delighted, honoured to announce the number of applicants to the award is increasing yearly with 78 applications received this year includes 61 professionals and 17 businesswomen.” He added.

The participants were judged based on their leadership skills, strategic and financial planning, career achievements, community contribution and innovation. The award was drawn into two main categories — business owners and professionals from government private sectors. The Jury members of the award were H.E. Dr. Huda Al Matroushi, H.E. Dr. Mariam Mattar, H.E. Dr. Eisa Al Qaydi and lieutenant Colonel. Salah Al Marzooqi, Chief Assessor.

H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shama bint Mohammed bin Khaled Al
She has a PHD in Political Science and National Security of UAE (1971-1998), MA in Women Studies in the topic of “Job Satisfaction for Women in the UAE” and BA in Islamic Studies and History. She is a professional trainer and certified lecturer from ILLAF Train.

First winner: Eng. Maitha Mohammad Bin Adai
She is the first woman to serve as the Executive Director in the organization she works for, where she manages assets worth AED 60 billion and oversees 1,200 employees. She has achieved annual revenues of AED 4.5 billion, achieving 100% of Dubai 2021 indicators. She converted 37 services to smart applications, leading her to win 9 international and local awards. She was ranked among the top 10 influential Arab women leaders within the government sector on the FORBES Global List 2018.
Second winner: Ms. Amina Ahmad Mohammed Ahmad
She is the first Emirati woman to win the chairmanship of an international organization, the Arab Organization for Accreditation (ARAC), representing all Arab countries at the International Accreditation Forum. She helped certify two strategic initiatives; The Smart Tracing Initiative and the Halal Academy Initiative. She was honored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the Intelligent Application Initiative.

Winner Criterion – Professional Category is Dr. Noura Ahmed Sultan AlDhaheri
She is entrepreneur, a role model of a successful and innovative Emirati woman. Within the short span of 10 years, she has grown to serve the role of CEO, managing 200+ employees. In 2018, she managed a project that saved the entire organization a total of 76.8 k man-days, 3.75 million physical trips, 27.3 tons of CO2 emission, and AED 421.6 million.
Winner Criterion – Business Category is Mona Haider Ataya
She is a leader with vision who has founded a successful dot.com company that facilitates electronic services to mothers, providing them the convenience of online shopping and giving them more time to care about their families. Her revolutionary idea in the retail world has brought the company to the top, from just a simple application to a vast electronic platform that offers more than 200,000 products and 1600 international brands, which caters to about 2.5 million mothers in more than 20 countries.

Winner Criterion – Professional Category is Awatif Rashed AlSuwaidi
She is a director of the Artificial Intelligence Program, the Smart Applications Manager and the Chief Executive Officer has contributed to the establishment of the world’s first smart police station. Received several certificates international and local, a total of 167 initiatives submitted between a proposal, a study, a project that implemented at 60%, and projects, studies and work systems at 100%.
Winner Criterion – Business Category is Dr. Leila Soudah
In 1998, she founded a Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic, the first healthcare institution in Dubai to receive ISO 9001 certification in 2006, and the GCI Accreditation. She is a member of several prestigious medical societies and has participated in more than 150 accredited training courses. She won the Best 100 Health Care Award in 2018 and was ranked third in the list of the best gynecologists in Dubai.

Winner Criterion – Professional Category is Dr. Babett Gutsmuths
She is the Head of Quality Management Near East for an international company, and is the first regional Quality Manager operating for the company in Dubai since 2014. She has worked with her team to improve the audit score from 59% – 92%, helped increase factory productivity by 21% through continuous improvements and raised local Quality Engagement score by 50%.
Winner Criterion – Business Category is Dr. Inas Fahmi Ramdan Gazar
She is one of the first specialists in therapeutic nutrition and alternative medicine in the UAE. Through the integration of both methodologies, she treated 5 cases of lymphoma, brain, and blood cancers, alongside with her specialty in Hijama medicine. She is currently working with a French company to develop healthy food supplements from coffee beans to treat Fatty liver and digestion related disorders.

Winner Criterion – Professional Category are:
First winner: Ms. Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlObeidli
She heads youth councils at Dubai Government and UAE, and has contributed to several charities. She participated in the last ten days’ campaign, along with the campaign of distributing 500 sorghum meals. She got the Corporate Identity Medal in 2018, with volunteering hours exceeding 500 hours annually over the past five years. She has organized ten youth workshops, including a workshop entitled “Youth against drugs.”
Second winner: Eng. Sara Ali Hassan AlZarooni
She is a Senior Electrical Disruption Engineer and Analyst is the First Emirati lady certified for Analysis and Diagnosis of Ground Cable Faults for Electrical Wiring. She has demonstrated an outstanding performance in an industry that is usually male-dominated. She contributed to the reduction of cable failures by 16% and saved up to 320 thousand dirhams annually. One of her noteworthy achievements is the development of a complex network diagram showing the fastest points to restore electricity after the interruption.
Best performer – Innovation Criterion:
Winner Criterion – Professional Category is Ms. Jennifer Peltenburg
She is a pioneer in innovation. She has presented many ideas and initiatives that has contributed to the reduction of costs by 20% and environmental impact by 5-15% for the organization she is working for. She also launched the application of robotics to enhance processes in the Housekeeping Department of her organization, in line with the Smart Dubai 2021 strategy.
Winner Criterion – Business Category is Ms. Ambareen Musa
In 2012 she founded the first electronic financial conglomerate in the country, making her a leader in spreading institutional innovation. Her innovative approach along with a clear understanding of the needs of customers in the Finance industry has given the electronic platform global credibility and unprecedented entrepreneurial leadership in serving the market, investors, and customers.
