Dubai (14th May 2017) United Arab Emirates: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Dubai Quality Group Conclude the 2 day Ideas Arabia 12th International Conference & Competition 2017 on 10th & 11th May 2017 at Four Seasons Resort Dubai, Jumeirah Beach.
the two-day conference was graced by 168 participants & 300 delegates, business leaders, industry experts and professionals brought together from public sectors and leading organizations to discuss innovation & suggestion Scheme from around the world, and they were greeted by Ahmed Al Mulla, Vice Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, Chairman of Ideas Arabia Subgroup and chairman of Idease Arabia conference, and Mohammed Al Mutawa General Secretary of Dubai Quality Group,
The first day of the conference was opened with the welcome note of Ahmed Al Mulla Vice Chairman, Dubai Quality Group, thanked all the conference attendees and the sponsors for supporting the conference and pointed out that DQG was able to facilitate this unique platform, where experts in innovation & suggestion scheme come together to share their knowledge and experience following the right path in development and innovation in line with the vision of UAE Government, also pointed to the importance of innovation to become a government habit, daily practice, and well-established institutional culture.
the key note of the first day conference was His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem Group Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, D P World, pointed out that the achievements of UAE especially Dubai since the seventies how turned innovative ideas into leading achievements that catapulted Dubai into greater heights, also pointed out that the importance of new ideas and their role in achieving the rapid development of the UAE's pioneering experience, which has become an international model followed by all countries of the world.
Ms. Fatma Buti Al Mheri, Chairman, DQG, said “Over the years, this conference has grown to be one of the best of its kind in the world, both in the number of attendees to the conference and in the number of submissions to the competition. This year exceeded 40% compared to previous years, which is proves the importance given to innovation in the region. We have received around 168 submissions to the Ideas Arabia competition this year, from UAE and GCC countries. we have chosen assessors with a high professional for the evaluation of the award categories to ensure transparency, integrity, and accuracy of results”.
Inspired by the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the theme of the conference was “Innovation in giving”, to involve business talents and to explore innovative ways of enrolling their talents, time and skills towards giving back to the society and encourage social responsibility in the private and public sectors.
The conference had international, regional and local speakers from various industries and businesses in both public and private sectors to share, network, learn and talk, along with the leaders and experts came together to meet for the two-day conference to support the spirit of ‘innovation in giving’ to join hands in making UAE a socially responsible society destination

The second day of the conference was eventful, with Speakers Tariq Qureishy, Founder & CEO, MAD Ta, talk about Technology v Humanity, 7 secrets of thriving in the future, Jabir Walji, Strategic Artist / Systematic Innovation Professional, UK, talk about ‘Idea & Concept Generation Via Systematic Innovation/TRIZ’, and Prof. Darrell Mann, CEO & Architect of Systematic Innovation, talk about Innovating Innovation: Breakthrough Employee Engagement & Suggestion Scheme Solutions,
Followed by an Interactive Workshop about ‘How do we use employee ideas to improve the business with incremental changes’.
The Ideas Arabia Competition 2017, was conducted yearly along with the annual conference, to recognize the most significant ideas implemented by companies during the previous year. This competition seeks to identify employees and organizations for their outstanding ideas. this competition provides an opportunity for participating companies to benchmark against other leading organizations, and acts as a motivational tool for employees.
Participation in this competition had many benefits. It provided additional recognition to the employees, and highlights how involving the employees can benefit the organization. It helped in imparting one’s experience to other companies, and provided an opportunity for one’s employees to learn from practices followed in other organizations.
The second day saw the most exciting part of the conference, with the announcement of the winners of the Ideas Arabia Competition 2017 marking the finale of the event.
